Network Protocol

A network protocol is a set of rules and conventions that govern the communication between devices on a network. It defines how data is transmitted, formatted, and processed, ensuring that devices can understand and exchange information seamlessly.

Importance: Network protocols are essential for enabling interoperability, security, and reliability in communication between different devices and systems. Without standardized protocols, network devices would not be able to communicate effectively, leading to data loss, errors, or miscommunication.

Example: The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is a widely used protocol that ensures reliable, ordered, and error-checked delivery of data across networks, making it fundamental for internet communication.
